bailiff clamped my car – what to do next
If a bailiff has clamped your car or taken it without warning, you may still be able to stop enforcement, reclaim your vehicle, and recover any unlawful fees. This page explains your rights under UK law, when clamping is illegal, and the urgent steps you can take to protect your property.
Apply for an emergency injunction if any of the following circumstances apply:

The vehicle is on finance

The vehicle is exempt goods

You were unaware of owing any debt

The debt being enforced is not owed by you

You moved and you didn't update your V5 with the DVLA

You recently bought the vehicle, but the debt belongs to a previous keeper

The bailiff has refused to show you the Warrant of Control

The vehicle is parked on private land, but not at your home address

You have appealed the debt and are awaiting a response from the TEC

You are considered a vulnerable person

You already paid the debt

You were driving the vehicle when the bailiff took it
